ABOUT

As a tool, design can bring organisations together and help them grow into their future states, both in terms of internal operations and external perceptions

After studying fine art, I began my career as a tech startup cofounder in Silicon Valley. A Y Combinator alumnus, I moved to London as one of the first settlers of Silicon Roundabout before pivoting to branding and advertising in 2010.

I have worked within this field for the last fourteen years, most recently at the BBC, first as as Head of Design of their internal agency BBC Creative, and latterly as Head of Brand Design for the BBC as a whole, overseeing design strategy across the domestic and international arms of the business.

In my time at the BBC, I was the Design Architect of the system which brought their once-fragmented portfolio into global alignment and fully refitted their communications infrastructure for the next stage of their Journey. Additionally, the teams which I built and led established the BBC as industry leaders in brand system, identity, graphic, motion, content, social and key art design, having produced major new identities for dozens of brands and services, as well as countless award-winning campaigns in every design craft field.

These days I contract and consult on design strategy, branding, advertising, architecture, comms systems, team building and laying infrastructure for business transformation.  I believe in smart, ethical practice which grows people in parallel with business ambition.
